The Fear Of Love

You look at me as though
my heart were made of stone.
My eyes reach out to you,
but all you see is cold.

I try to speak to you tenderly,
but all you hear is chill.
I try to kiss you passionately,
but pain is all you feel.

Why can't I love you,
the way I know I should?
I think that you should know,
I'd love you if I could.

Inside my heart is screaming,
aching to hold you near.
Outside my limbs are shaking,
quaking with the fear.

Yes, my love, it is fear,
that keeps us apart.
The fear of being hurt,
the unwanted broken heart.

You and my Heart

When you touch me,
my heart skips a beat
like the roaring waves
rolling on the sea.

When you whisper softly to me
my heart is all a glow
like sitting by a fire
watching the falling snow.

When you hold me close
my heart is all alight
like the silver moon
shining in the night.

When you kiss me tenderly
my heart begins to race
like a shooting star
soaring out in space.

When you say you love me
my heart skips a beat
like the roaring waves
rolling on the sea.

More to come

A Love of the Gods

Long ago in the times of Gods and Queens
in a land still new in its birth
two immortal souls came together
in a love like no mortals ever seen.

Out of the darkness these two came
finding a love to last eternity
doomed to roam the world for ages
these two lovers Thoth and Athena by name.

He of Egyptian rule, she by the Greek
the moment their eyes met
they knew they were destined to be
but neither one would speak.

For many eons roaming the world in passing time
always finding each other no matter where
their hearts led the way to the other
over mountains and hills they would climb.

Many believe their love should have died
along with the ancient times
ages ago in the land of Gods and Queens
but here they remain side by side.

Unknown to all they see
they remain here in this land
no more to roam for love they found.
